Factors to the strength of the Nandi

i) Adoption of the office of Orkoiyot which helped to unite the Nandi especially during times of war.

ii) The presence of good, strong and able leaders who organised and mobilised the people towards a united goal.

iii) Availability of wealth acquired from raiding which helped to strengthen their political system and military

iv) Stable economic base facilitated by reliable rainfall and fertile soils thus availability of enough food for the population

v) Presence of good, large and well-organised military which protected against external attacks and for raiding

vi) pride and a feeling of superiority especially after the decline of Maasai's power due to succession disputes and natural calamities, thus making them predominant in the region.
